Fatal School Bus Crash Closes Route 12 in Marlborough


A deadly crash involving a school bus and a pickup truck shut down Route 12 in Marlborough Friday morning. New Hampshire State Police say 74-year-old David Peloski of Swanzey was killed after his pickup crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a school bus around 7:15 a.m.


The bus was carrying 13 students from Monadnock Regional Middle-High School. Officials say none of the children suffered serious injuries, though several were taken to Cheshire Medical Center with minor injuries. The bus driver was also hurt but is expected to recover.


Witnesses nearby rushed to help evacuate students as smoke rose from the wreckage. Route 12 near Webb Depot Road remains closed as State Police continue investigating the crash.

Crash Temporarily Closes Route 28 in Pembroke



Route 28 in Pembroke was temporarily shut down Friday morning following a crash. Authorities reopened the roadway before noon. Officials have not released information on possible injuries or what may have caused the collision. The incident remains under investigation.

Mass Casualty Response Underway After Fire at Searsmont Lumber Mill



Emergency crews and the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office are responding to a mass casualty incident at a lumber mill in Searsmont Friday morning. Officials say at least one person suffered burn injuries and was taken to a hospital in Augusta. Video from the scene showed heavy flames and smoke coming from the facility as investigators worked to determine the cause.
