Charli XCX Admits She Almost Gave “Break The Rules” Away

Charli XCX revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that she originally intended to pass her hit song “Break The Rules” on to another artist because she wasn’t fond of it when she first wrote it. She recalled thinking that whoever ended up performing the track would be “an idiot” — only to later realize that she herself would be the one to release and sing it. Looking back, she laughed at the irony, admitting that the “idiot” she had in mind turned out to be her.
