Chris Brown Pleads Guilty in London Assault Case, Faces Up to Three Years in Prison

Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to an affray charge in a London court, potentially facing a prison sentence of up to three years.

The 37-year-old singer entered the guilty plea on Friday in connection with a 2023 incident at Tape London nightclub, where prosecutors alleged he struck music producer Abraham Diaw with a tequila bottle during what they described as a "vicious and unprovoked attack."

Under U.K. law, affray involves using or threatening unlawful violence in a manner that would cause a reasonable person present at the scene to fear for their safety.

Brown had previously denied the allegations but changed his plea as part of an agreement that resulted in prosecutors dropping charges of assault, attempted grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon.

His friend and vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, also pleaded guilty to affray in connection with the incident.

Both men are scheduled to be sentenced in October.
