Aggressive Animal Prompts Warning in Lebanon
Police in Lebanon are warning residents to be cautious following three reported animal attacks in the Centerra Parkway area over the past 36 hours.
Surveillance video reportedly shows a small gray animal, about the size of a house cat, attacking a man in a parking lot.
Police say the animal could be a gray fox or a fisher, and officials are concerned that its unusually aggressive behavior could be a sign of rabies.
Lebanon Police and New Hampshire Fish and Game officials are searching for the animal. If you see it, stay away and contact authorities.
School Tax Cap Ballot Measure Faces Legal Challenge
A statewide ballot measure involving school property tax caps is facing a legal challenge ahead of the November election.
A new lawsuit is seeking to block the measure, arguing that the ballot questions are confusing and violate the New Hampshire Constitution.
Lawmakers approved legislation earlier this year requiring communities to vote on local property tax caps in 2026 and again in 2028.
Supporters of the measure say it would give more voters a voice in decisions involving local school spending.
License Plate Camera Concerns
License plate-reading cameras are raising privacy concerns across the country as the technology becomes more widely used.
Law enforcement officials say the cameras can help investigators solve crimes by tracking vehicles. However, privacy advocates point out that New Hampshire has some of the strictest rules in the nation governing how the technology can be used.
In most cases, data collected in New Hampshire must be deleted within three minutes.
New Hampshire State Police say they do not install or maintain Flock cameras in the state.
