News Update:

Gas Explosion Shakes Nashua Neighborhood

A powerful natural gas explosion rocked a commercial building along Amherst Street in Nashua on Monday, shaking nearby homes and businesses. Witnesses say the blast was loud enough to rattle buildings and trigger emergency alerts, prompting swift evacuations.

First responders quickly cleared surrounding buildings as smoke filled the area. Crews from multiple neighboring communities responded to the scene, while road closures forced residents and students to shelter in place. Officials say no further danger remains, and Amherst Street has since reopened.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

Tonight

Partly cloudy skies. Low around 10F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow

Intervals of clouds and sunshine. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 31F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Traffic Update:

Good morning! Traffic across southern New Hampshire and the Seacoast is moving pretty smoothly.

In Manchester, expect some typical slowdowns on I-93 through Hooksett and Bedford, especially near the interchanges, but nothing major yet.

Route 101 is flowing well from Nashua through Merrimack, with light congestion picking up closer to Exeter.

Along the coast, I-95 is in good shape from Portsmouth down toward Newburyport, with steady speeds for early commuters.

Overall, it’s a decent ride out there—just give yourself a few extra minutes as volumes build. Drive safe and have a great morning!
