Teen Charged After Crash at Portsmouth International Airport

A 17-year-old from Rochester faces multiple charges after police say he crashed through a fence at Portsmouth International Airport at Pease while trying to flee a state trooper.

New Hampshire State Police say the crash happened around 8 Saturday night. The teen’s car struck an empty, privately owned plane parked off the runway, damaging both vehicles and causing a fuel leak.

No other injuries were reported, and the airport remained open.

The teen faces charges including aggravated DWI, reckless driving and disobeying a police officer. He is scheduled to be arraigned September 9.

Nashua Neighbor Helps Save Home from Garage Fire

A Nashua couple is thanking a neighbor whose quick actions helped prevent a garage fire from spreading to their home.

The homeowners were away when neighbor Jonathan Paradise spotted the fire, grabbed a garden hose and began spraying the flames.

Nashua firefighters arrived shortly afterward and extinguished the remaining fire. The garage suffered serious damage, while the home sustained only smoke damage.

The couple credits Paradise with helping save their house. No injuries were reported.
